OPT X-Ray

This dental xray shows a number of significant points of interest. The first being the lower right second premolar, which has an associated dental abscess seen as the radiolucent (darker) area around the tooth apex; this tooth will require either root canal treatment or extraction by a dentist. Secondly, the two tapered radio-opaque (white) rod like structures in the upper arch are prefabricated posts used for retention of crowns (the placement of which are incorrect).
